Position Summary
The Director, Digital Product Management (band 9) is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and lifecycle management of digital products supporting global Medical Writing. Products include Voice of Customer, technical programs, strategy, planning, product definition and/or financial returns. This role drives product vision, roadmap execution, and global market success by aligning customer needs, business strategy, and technical capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with Clinical Research Group (CRG) and Thermo Fisher Scientific objectives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert with strong technical and domain acumen.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across global stakeholders.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing product management team.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle including design, development, launch, and growth.
  • Identify market opportunities and customer needs through Voice of the Customer (VoC) insights.
  • Define product positioning, value propositions, and commercialization strategies.
  • Manage product portfolio performance, including revenue and operating metrics.

Market & Customer Insights

  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback.
  • Define market segmentation and target customer profiles.
  • Develop pricing strategies and evaluate product competitiveness.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, R&D, engineering, sales, and finance to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Coordinate product launches, campaigns, and communication strategies.
  • Align feature prioritization with business and customer value.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.
  • Oversee project management and ensure timely execution of deliverables.
  • Prepare and present business cases, performance reports, and strategic updates.

Enablement & Advocacy

  • Promote product value internally and externally.
  • Support training initiatives for internal teams and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous product management experience, including leadership of complex products or services that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 10+ years’ experience) 
  • Proven experience leading global, multi-layered teams (preferred)
  • Experience in clinical research, medical writing, or regulated environments (preferred)
  • Experience with digital product transformation and innovation (preferred)
  • In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

  • Deep understanding of full product lifecycle management from concept through commercialization. 
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams in large, matrixed organizations. 
  • Experience collaborating with external development partners.

Location: Remote Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine US. Relocation assistance is NOT provided.

The annual salary range estimated for this position is $185,000- $215,000 USD. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. 

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $160,000.00–$240,000.00.
