Job Description

Job Description:

This is a working leadership role for a seasoned creative professional who takes pride in the craft of execution. You will lead ITW Welding’s in-house creative engine, turning brand strategies and campaign briefs into high-caliber visual work that honors our 100-year legacy.

Reporting to the Sr. Brand Manager in Central Marketing, you will oversee the day-to-day output of our designers and editors, ensuring every asset is built with the same precision and reliability our customers expect from the Miller name.

Expect to spend 60% of your time directing the team and managing workflows, and 40% executing on high-stakes work that demands expert-level polish.

Responsibilities

Creative Operations and Standards

  • Develop the processes and workflows that ensure every asset aligns with our brand architecture and voice pillars.
  • Translate strategic direction from the Sr. Brand Manager into the "how-to" guides, templates, and style frameworks that keep our creative output steadfast and scalable.
  • Provide direct, technical feedback to designers and editors. You are responsible for the structure that allows the team to work efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Ensure that all work, whether produced internally or by agencies, meets our technical requirements and lives up to our brand promises.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Develop high-performance talent through consistent coaching, structured feedback loops, and clear performance expectations that drive professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of excellence rooted in accountability, seamless cross-functional collaboration, and a spirit of creative curiosity that pushes the brand forward.
  • Drive operational evolution by continuously evaluating creative effectiveness and production efficiency: identifying tangible opportunities to improve speed, quality, and business impact.

Production and Execution

  • Serve as the lead technical eye on video and photo shoots, managing composition, lighting, and art direction to capture the authentic reality of the job site.
  • Oversee the final polish on content—design, editing, motion graphics, and sound design—ensuring the narrative is clear and the execution is professional.
  • Lead by example as a skilled designer/editor who can jump into the timeline or layout to help the team meet tight production schedules.

Collaboration & Resource Management

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for external partners, holding them accountable to our creative frameworks and brand guidelines.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Marketing teams to ensure creative work solves real problems for our customers without adding needless complexity.
  • Manage production budgets, resource allocation, vendor relationships, file management systems (DAM), and distribution channels.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years leading creative teams and building production workflows in an agency or in-house environment.
  • You don’t just make things; you build the structures that allow teams to scale quality and consistency.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the end-to-end video workflow, from pre-production planning to final delivery.
  • A strong portfolio that shows how you use design and layout to make the complex feel simple and approachable.
  • You enjoy the balance of guiding a team’s process and personally contributing to the final product.

A Portfolio That Demonstrates

  • Art direction of video and photography projects with clear narrative intent.
  • Leadership and direction of creative teams and external partners.
  • High-caliber design execution across multiple media formats.
  • A consistent visual point of view and ability to maintain brand tone across diverse deliverables.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or B2B brand environments.
  • Familiarity with multi-brand portfolio management.
  • Experience building or scaling in-house creative capabilities.

Location and Travel

This role is based at our headquarters in Appleton, Wisconsin with travel required for on-location photo and video production as project needs dictate.
