Senior Director, Data Platform will build and inspire high-performing teams across data engineering, EDI, ETL, and enterprise integrations, operating in SOX- and GxP-regulated environments. The role also leads a senior leader responsible for enterprise data governance, ensuring trusted, well-governed data is consistently available across the organization.
This position reports to the VP, Digital, Data & AI and is part of the Digital, Data & AI team and will be an on-site role in Kraków.
What you will do
Set a bold, clear enterprise data platform vision and strategy, aligned to business priorities, and translate it into an executable, multi-year roadmap.
Lead, coach, and scale teams across data governance, data engineering, EDI, ETL, and integration engineering, developing strong leaders and a culture of accountability and excellence.
Drive modernization of the data platform, including architectural simplification, standardization, and adoption of modern data patterns and platforms.
Own delivery outcomes for the data platform, including reliability, performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and time-to-value.
Ensure the platform meets stringent SOX and GxP requirements, with strong controls, validation discipline, audit readiness, and data integrity practices embedded by design.
Lead a team responsible for enterprise data governance, and partner closely to:
- Define and enforce data policies, standards, and stewardship models.
- Improve data quality, lineage, and transparency across domains.
- Enable confident decision-making through trusted, well-documented data.
Influence and align across a complex, matrixed organization, driving adoption of shared platforms and reducing fragmentation and technical debt.
Establish clear metrics and operating rhythms to measure platform health, adoption, and business impact.
Make decisive build/buy and prioritization decisions, balancing speed, risk, compliance, and long-term sustainability.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in data engineering, integration engineering, or data platform roles, with 6+ years in people leadership roles.
Proven experience defining and delivering enterprise data platform strategy and roadmaps in a complex, matrixed organization.
Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, including data engineering, ETL/integration, and EDI capabilities.
Strong understanding of modern data architectures (lakehouse/warehouse patterns, streaming, semantic layers, data product thinking) and how to operationalize them at scale.
Experience delivering solutions in regulated environments, including SOX controls and GxP expectations (e.g., validation, traceability, audit readiness, data integrity).
Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, azure, or gcp) and modern engineering practices (CI/CD, observability, infrastructure as code, security by design).
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence executive audiences and align priorities across teams.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in
Leading enterprise data governance programs (catalog, lineage, stewardship, data quality, policy enforcement) in partnership with business and IT.
EDI standards and ecosystems (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT), B2B integration patterns, and partner onboarding at scale.
Integrating data across ERP, CRM, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain platforms in life sciences, biotech, or healthcare environments.
Driving platform modernization programs (legacy to cloud migration, tool consolidation, operating model changes) with measurable cost and reliability improvements.
Supporting M&A integration, including rapid onboarding of new data sources and harmonization of data models and controls.
