DESCRIPTION:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to producing high-quality instruments and components that enable scientific discoveries. In this hands-on position, you will work with sophisticated equipment to assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex electromechanical, fluidic, and optical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, implement improvements, and ensure products meet our rigorous quality standards. REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Requires high school diploma or GED

Experience:

• 1 year of experience in manufacturing, assembly and testing of precision instruments or similar technical equipment preferred
• Preferred Fields of Study: Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related technical field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• ISO quality management system certifications advantageous
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with assembly tools, test equipment, and calibration processes
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and quality control procedures
• Ability to operate precision measurement tools and testing equipment
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and manufacturing software systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting up to 35 lbs, and manual dexterity
• Ability to adapt schedule as needed to support production demands
