DESCRIPTION:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to producing high-quality instruments and components that enable scientific discoveries. In this hands-on position, you will work with sophisticated equipment to assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex electromechanical, fluidic, and optical systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, implement improvements, and ensure products meet our rigorous quality standards. This role offers opportunities to contribute to meaningful work while developing your technical expertise in an innovative environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Requires high school diploma or GED

Experience:

• 1 year of experience in manufacturing, assembly and testing of precision instruments or similar technical equipment preferred
• Preferred Fields of Study: Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related technical field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• ISO quality management system certifications advantageous
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience with assembly tools, test equipment, and calibration processes
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and quality control procedures
• Ability to operate precision measurement tools and testing equipment
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and manufacturing software systems
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting up to 35 lbs, and manual dexterity
• Ability to adapt schedule as needed to support production demands
