About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Social Media Account Manager to join our award-winning Create Social team at MG OMD. This is a strategically important role with high-profile accounts, where you’ll have the chance to grow client partnerships, shape standout social content, and progress your career in a dynamic, collaborative team.
You’ll act as the main point of contact for clients, managing their day-to-day social presence while driving forward proactive opportunities. This is a role for someone who thrives on balancing client service with social-first creativity – a natural relationship-builder who can manage delivery, guide strategy, and champion bold work that cuts through the noise.
- Act as the main client contact for all social media activity, ensuring their needs are met with excellence.
- Manage the social output of retained accounts – from always-on calendars to big campaign activations.
- Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term, trusted partnerships.
- Support junior members of the team in their development, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Manage financial processes across accounts, ensuring commercial responsibility and accuracy.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Social & Content Management
- Oversee the always-on social presence of client accounts, particularly across Instagram and TikTok.
- Create and manage monthly social content calendars, ensuring internal deadlines are met and delivery is on budget.
- Brief and collaborate with creative teams to execute content that reflects brand guidelines, platform best practice, and creative ambition.
- Manage influencer outreach and campaigns, including external suppliers, to achieve campaign objectives.
Client Servicing & Strategy
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed and supported on all activity.
- Work with the Social Account Director and creative team to develop social, content, and creator strategies.
- Confidently present calendars, campaign ideas, and reporting outputs to clients.
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, keeping clients at the forefront of social culture and trends.
Project & Performance Management
- Track, analyse, and report on performance through monthly reports and competitor audits.
- Keep Account Director updated on client deliverables, flagging risks or issues early.
- Ensure finances are tightly managed – maintaining trackers, reconciling budgets, and submitting accurate timesheets.
- Platform & Industry Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with social platforms and technology providers to unlock opportunities and stay ahead of the curve.
- Stay on top of social trends, audience behaviours, and platform updates, translating insights into actionable recommendations for clients.
Communication
- Showcase excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills both internally and externally.
- Manage upwards effectively – requesting support when needed, and keeping leadership informed on progress and challenges.
- Confidently contribute ideas and suggestions to internal and client discussions.
- Ensure deadlines are met and proactively flag workload issues.
