The Senior Staff Outbound Product Manager is a market-facing, commercially focused technical product leader responsible for translating product strategy and capabilities into clear customer value, differentiated positioning, and scalable go‑to‑market execution.

This role sits at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customers, ensuring that our software products resonate with enterprise life sciences customers and drive measurable business impact.

At the Senior Staff level, this role operates with strategic autonomy, influences portfolio‑level decisions, and serves as a voice of the customer and market authority across multiple products or platforms. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in life sciences software, strong exposure to enterprise customers, a proven track record supporting SaaS go‑to‑market motions, and a proven ability to translate industry and customer trends into detailed technical product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Customer Leadership

  • Act as the primary voice of customers and the market, representing customer needs, workflows, and buying drivers across product lines
  • Wholly own and drive relationships with our most strategic customers
  • Lead deep Voice of Customer (VoC) efforts, including enterprise customer interviews, field engagement, advisory boards, and win/loss analysis
  • Develop and maintain customer personas, buyer profiles, and use‑case narratives across life sciences segments (e.g., research, clinical, regulated environments)
  • Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Field Marketing to identify commercial gaps, expansion opportunities, and adoption barriers

Positioning, Messaging & Differentiation

  • Own and evolve product positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks across a portfolio of software products
  • Translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling, customer‑centric narratives tailored for enterprise buyers and decision makers
  • Lead competitive analysis and market intelligence efforts; identify actionable differentiation and competitive response strategies
  • Influence product strategy by clearly articulating market problems, unmet needs, and commercial opportunities

Go‑to‑Market Strategy & Execution

  • Define and drive end‑to‑end go‑to‑market strategies for new product launches, major releases, and platform capabilities
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure roadmap decisions align with commercial impact and market readiness
  • Enable Sales and Customer Success through sales plays, enablement materials, demos, pricing/packaging input, and objection handling
  • Support enterprise deals, including customer briefings, RFPs, technical/commercial narratives, and executive presentations

Cross‑Functional Influence & Leadership

  • Operate as a senior, trusted partner to Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Executive stakeholders
  • Influence product direction across multiple products or platforms by grounding decisions in customer and market insight
  • Lead outbound best practices, frameworks, and process improvements across the product organization
  • Mentor and guide other product managers and marketers on outbound, commercial, and customer‑centric practices

Requirements:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience.

  • Strong analytical skills required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required

  • Ability to present complex ideas and information clearly and succinctly in a group setting

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering, development & scrum product owner role

  • Knowledge of the full software development life cycle

  • Knowledge of genomics analysis software and pipeline creation

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms for genomics data analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and multi-disciplinary teams in a complex fast paced environment

  • Knowledge of user experience design in developing software solutions with exceptional usability

  • Prior programming experience a plus

  • Knowledge of data engineering/data networks is a plus

  • Experience working in an ISO:13485 or FDA regulated (QSR) environment is a plus

The estimated base salary range for the Senior Staff Software Outbound Technical Product Manager role based in the United States of America is: $155,600 - $233,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
