Job Description

IPX Power, a clean energy company, develops, owns, and operates some of the world’s largest energy resources, delivering affordable, reliable power to utilities and other customers. We’re in a rapid growth phase with 4.3 GW of solar PV and 8.8 GWh of battery storage in construction or operation, with more projects under various stages of development.

IPX is a profitable, well capitalized, independent power producer that has delivered billions of dollars of industrial-scale clean energy infrastructure. The company was recently formed as a spin-out of Intersect, as a result of their recent acquisition by Google. IPX is supported by long-standing existing investors TPG Rise Climate, Climate Adaptive Infrastructure, and Greenbelt Capital Partners.

IPX is rooted in a culture of collaboration, creativity, and operational excellence. We’re building and operating billions of dollars in assets and seeking people eager to develop, build, and operate one of the world’s largest renewables and storage portfolios.

  • Implement and maintain industrial network security controls, including firewalls, segmentation, and secure remote access, in alignment with our established cybersecurity architecture.
  • Design, deploy, and support RF and wireless solutions (e.g., Wi-Fi, industrial radio) across our sites. This includes conducting RF site surveys, planning for optimal coverage, and validating performance.
  • Provide advanced technical support for network incidents and complex issues, ensuring minimal disruption to our energy generation and operational activities..
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to continuously improve our network standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate with telecom providers and third-party vendors to promptly resolve network outages and latency issues.
  • Support compliance initiatives by maintaining accurate network documentation, enforcing access controls, and ensuring audit readiness.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3-5years of experience in network engineering, IT/OT systems, or industrial technology (internships/co-ops welcome)
  • Demonstrated expertise with industrial routing, switching, firewall technologies, and network segmentation.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in operationally sensitive industrial environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to our remote energy sites (e.g., solar farms, substations).
  • Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of a cross-functional OT/engineering team.
  • Must be able to pass background checks required for access to regulated energy infrastructure.

Nice to Have Qualifications:
