Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, development and release of automotive components and/ or systems. Directs and coordinates all engineering activities involved in Cosma Engineering, OEM, and related Cosma Divisions from concept development thru to end of SOP Lifecycle.
  • Analyze customer performance and validation specifications (stiffness, strength, durability, NVH, energy management, corrosion protection etc.), understanding of product key characteristics (dimensional, identification, shipping/logistics, serviceability etc.) along with division.
  • Provide ongoing support to both internal and external customers by completing progress reports and preparing presentations to discuss anticipated timing, scope of work, technological findings, and design changes.
  • Conduct product benchmarking and research studies and analyze data to develop new designs or concepts for automotive components and systems.
  • Coordinates CAD, CAE, test and dimensional resources with respect to project requirements to ensure projects are being led according to milestones.
  • Discuss and negotiate technical performance items with division and external customers.
  • Provide design direction to the CAD Designers and assist them in altering or modifying the design to obtain specified functional and operational performance.
  • Communicate design concepts with the CAE Engineers and evaluate structural analysis results.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and release of drawings. Perform actively the Engineering Change Management Process.
  • Perform product DFMEA, POT matrix, risk assessment.
  •  Responsible to complete engineering design release along with division.
  •  Part of the CFT (Cross Function Team) responsible for sign off of Product and Process changes
  • Support division for testing activities on components level under designated conditions to ensure operational performance meets design specifications.
  • Report lessons learned during project execution and apply to future projects.
  • Participate in VA/VE activity and support continuous improvement.
  • Capable to run diversified projects.
  • Identifying gaps and potentials on current status.
  • Actively working on new processes, methods and procedures.
  • Daily work within Cosma System (Team Center) and qualified to Cosma Standard.
  • Provide other support if necessary.
