Job Description:

Job Title: Senior Staff Scrum Master – Modernization Engineering

About TJX:

TJX is a Fortune 100 global retailer where technology powers millions of daily transactions across thousands of stores. At TJX India in Hyderabad, you’ll join a high‑impact engineering hub delivering enterprise‑scale modernization programs. We foster a culture grounded in engineering excellence, autonomy, and enterprise‑level influence.

What you will discover

  • A culture that values clarity, accountability, and technical partnership with engineering leaders
  • A global technology organization collaborating across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia
  • Opportunities to support multiple high‑impact modernization squads delivering core enterprise capabilities
  • A high‑trust, high‑performance environment where Scrum Masters shape delivery excellence and team health

Our organization:

As the Senior Staff Scrum Master supporting Store Web Modernization and related engineering teams, you will operate at the center of TJX’s modernization engine. You will partner directly with Senior Engineers, Staff Engineers, DevOps, Data Migration, Observability, and Integration teams—enabling predictable, high‑quality delivery across highly technical, multi‑team modernization initiatives. This role requires exceptional delivery leadership, facilitation mastery, and the ability to operate confidently in deeply technical engineering environments.

What you will do

  • Enable predictable delivery across multiple modernization squads by driving sprint execution, backlog health, and flow efficiency.
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies with excellence—stand‑ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Partner with engineering leads (Java Liberty, .NET Azure, DevOps, Integration, Data Migration, QA, Observability) to ensure cross‑team alignment and dependency visibility.
  • Identify and remove blockers by working across engineering, architecture, networking, security, and product organizations.
  • Drive modernization governance: OKR tracking, milestone risk reviews, and reporting across India and U.S. partners.
  • Promote engineering excellence—Definition of Ready/Done, test automation readiness, CI/CD quality gates, and production‑safety guardrails.
  • Strengthen operational rigor by supporting rollout planning, change‑management readiness, incident response preparation, and post‑mortem follow‑through.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement—facilitating retrospectives that produce measurable outcomes.
  • Coach engineers and managers in agile mindset, lean delivery, incremental value release, and flow‑based execution.
  • Provide polished, executive‑ready updates that clearly articulate risk, progress, and mitigation strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 13+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead supporting engineering‑heavy teams.
  • Proven experience enabling delivery across complex modernization, migration, or cloud‑native engineering programs.
  • Deep familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, story slicing, technical backlog structures, and engineering workflows.
  • Strong facilitation, conflict‑resolution, and communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to manage cross‑team dependencies, competing priorities, and aggressive delivery timelines.
  • Strong experience in Jira Align and Jira Cloud Or Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting platform engineering, reliability engineering, data migration, or API modernization teams.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps boards, pipelines, and engineering metrics.
  • Knowledge of SLO‑based operations, release safety practices, and production‑ready change management.
  • Certification in SAFe certification, Scrum, Kanban, or scaled‑agile frameworks.
