Job Description
Shape and deliver reliable, scalable software solutions that support critical business operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Information Systems, business partners, and project teams to design, build, and enhance enterprise applications while providing ongoing production support. You’ll have the opportunity to solve complex technical problems, mentor team members, and contribute to initiatives that make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Information Systems and business stakeholders to evaluate user requests, clarify objectives, and translate functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Assess feasibility, timelines, system compatibility, and overall alignment with existing platforms and enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed program specifications using established analysis and design methodologies in a multi-platform, distributed environment.
- Design, code, test, and implement new or enhanced computer programs within existing systems to meet business needs.
- Analyze error messages, troubleshoot issues, and modify code to ensure application stability and performance.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including program logic, development updates, corrections, and operational procedures.
- Support end users by providing application setup, data extraction, production operations assistance, and timely resolution of application and system issues.
- Monitor system performance and proactively recommend enhancements or updates based on changing business requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide off-hours support as needed.
- Share technical expertise by assisting team members with complex issues and providing on-the-job training for new or existing staff.
- Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Systems.
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience developing J2EE applications using Java Spring Boot and API-based web services (SOAP and RESTful).
- Demonstrated experience with OpenShift and AWS in an enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency with Spring Framework, Apache, IDE tools (Eclipse or NetBeans), HTML, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with relational databases, ideally Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
- Proficiency with development and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitHub.
- Working knowledge of PL/SQL, J2EE, JPA, and Java-based RESTful web services.
- Familiarity with Linux, Unix variants (including HP-UX), and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, UML, and best practices.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments on complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to standards, methodology, and documentation quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet project deadlines, and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to support project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience mentoring or coaching software engineers within a team environment.
- Exposure to distributed systems and large-scale enterprise application support.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 111,700 - 186,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
