The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced business‑focused Project Manager to lead cross‑functional initiatives that improve how work gets done across the organization within our Toxicology business unit, located in Kansas City, MO. This role partners closely with functional leaders to translate strategic objectives into executable plans, align stakeholders, and drive sustainable process and operational improvements in a regulated, quality‑focused environment.

Success in this role requires strong business acumen, the ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations, and a passion for driving change through people, process, and governance—not just task execution. This is an individual contributor role that leads through influence rather than direct authority.

What You’ll Work On

  • Lead and manage medium to large, cross‑functional projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, budget, quality, and compliance standards

  • Translate business objectives into integrated project plans, managing scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, resources, and financials

  • Develop and maintain key project artifacts including project charters, communication plans, risk and issue logs, status reports, and executive‑level dashboards

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior leaders and key stakeholders, providing clear, concise updates and proactively escalating risks, decisions, or changes

  • Partner closely with SMEs across Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Product, Software Development, Finance, Clinic Solutions, and HR to gather requirements, align deliverables, and drive execution

  • Lead teams through Design Controls, Product Development, and Design Change processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and quality requirements

  • Drive alignment and decision‑making across functions to resolve priority, scope, and resource conflicts

  • Anticipate and manage project risks, proactively addressing ambiguity, resource constraints, and competing priorities

  • Prepare teams for governance reviews, business reviews, and system or product approvals, ensuring readiness and documentation integrity

  • Contribute to strengthening project management discipline by sharing best practices and mentoring other project leads as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience, leading cross‑functional initiatives in regulated or compliance‑driven environments

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex dependencies, multiple stakeholders, and competing priorities

  • Strong executive‑level communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven experience delivering projects end‑to‑end, not solely coordinating tasks

  • Ability to lead effectively without direct authority in matrixed organizations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • PMP certification or actively pursuing certification

  • Experience partnering across Quality, Regulatory, Operations, or Product‑focused teams

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, or equivalent

  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches as applied in regulated environments

Competencies

  • Strong business and operational acumen

  • Strategic thinker with disciplined execution skills

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and organizational complexity

  • Decisive, solutions‑oriented, and calm under pressure

  • Effective risk identification and mitigation capabilities

  • Financial and resource management mindset

  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
