About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Sofware Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
- Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
- Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
- Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- A highly experienced engineering professional with over 12 years of IT industry experience, including the last 5 years specializing in MTS (Message Transaction Systems). Proven expertise in managing lower environments, supporting complex ACI-MTS releases, coordinating large-scale ORT events, and ensuring seamless collaboration across testing, operations, and middleware teams. Strong technical proficiency in Unix, Shell Scripting, IBM MQ, and MTS installations.
- Strong proficiency in Unix commands and Shell Scripting
- Hands-on experience with GMTS/EMTS MTS systems
- Expertise in MTS installations and deployments
- Working knowledge of IBM MQ fundamentals
- Experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, and environment support workflows
Job Expectations:
- Will be required to work in the office as per organizations In Office Adherence / Return To Office (RTO)
- Manage and resolve JIRA and ServiceNow tickets related to GMTS/EMTS lower environments.
- Support ACI-MTS releases, ensuring timely environment readiness and issue resolution.
- Prepare and validate ORT environments ahead of testing cycles and collaborate with onshore teams during test execution.
- Perform MTS code installations across lower environments in alignment with release management processes.
- Collaborate with Testing, Operations, and Middleware teams to ensure environment availability for high‑priority test events.
- Conduct and maintain regular environment health checks for GMTS and EMTS environments, ensuring stability and early issue detection.
- Perform validation activities post‑middleware patches and coordinate cross-team resolutions for environment issues.
