Reporting to our Brand Creative Director, this Senior Graphic Designer at BILL is responsible for bringing the brand to life by expanding and utilizing the BILL brand design system, developing definitions such as brand guidelines, style guides, and templates for the brand, and delivering high-bar design for marketing assets across campaigns, collateral, email marketing, event signage, swag, and more. A Senior Designer is expected to interpret and deliver upon strategic creative briefs for projects of various sizes, scopes, and complexities; seek necessary information from stakeholders and partner teams; and determine best design approaches for achieving results. Additionally, Senior Designers proactively analyze work methods and propose programs and processes which reduce operational redundancies and drive the Marketing organization’s strategic goals. 

A Senior Designer is an integral part of the Creative Studio team who collaborates closely with other creative disciplines, and across BILL’s Marketing org to develop impactful work which delivers strong business outcomes. They act as design leaders, driving a design culture of excellence, including mentoring peers and junior members of the creative team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work autonomously throughout fast-paced creative workflows to deliver high-bar and impactful creative marketing assets, while balancing  business needs with technical and creative constraints.
  • Act as the primary creative consultant for stakeholders. You will interpret complex briefs, defend design decisions, and ensure every visual solution aligns with broader business goals.
  • Interpret strategic briefs, evaluate creative approaches inline with business needs, propose creative concepts and approaches, iterate design execution inline with stakeholder feedback, finalize and deliver creative assets
  • Lead projects from conceptual stage through to final production and delivery. You are responsible for maintaining momentum, meeting deadlines, and ensuring quality at every milestone.
  • Clearly and succinctly present creative work and logic to senior leadership and stakeholders across Marketing and other BILL organizations, delivering key messages at the appropriate level of detail for each audience.
  • Maintain and share up-to-date expertise and general best-practices for creative discipline, with attention to common touchpoints.
  • Anticipate and proactively flag potential bottlenecks and roadblocks, and communicate project status with Project Managers regularly
  • Maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to better understand their collaboration needs, concerns, and roadmaps
  • Manage and strategically iterate creative approaches, continually elevating personal creative bar and output, and driving elevated creative bar of the team
  • Actively manage personal career development, including defining and tracking quarterly goals
