Summary of Role

GlobalFoundries is building an enterprise data catalog and lineage capability to make data easier to find, trust, and use across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance. This role is a senior individual contributor who will own the enterprise data catalog and lineage strategy end to end, driving adoption through automation, stewardship, and hands-on execution in a highly complex semiconductor environment.

This is a high-impact, builder role for someone who has implemented data catalog and lineage capabilities at scale and is looking for ownership, visibility, and real operational impact.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise data catalog and metadata operating model, including standards, workflows, stewardship, and adoption metrics
  • Lead implementation and ongoing optimization of the data catalog platform (Alation or equivalent), ensuring high-quality, trusted metadata
  • Design and maintain business glossaries and critical data element definitions across priority domains, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance
  • Deliver end-to-end data lineage for priority data products and reporting, enabling impact analysis and faster issue resolution
  • Build and automate metadata ingestion and enrichment using APIs, scripts, and connectors across enterprise platforms
  • Partner with data owners, data stewards, and engineering teams to establish ownership, data quality rules, and accountability
  • Integrate catalog and lineage tooling with the data lake, ETL pipelines, BI platforms, and core operational systems such as ERP and MES
  • Drive catalog adoption through enablement, training, office hours, and curated content that improves data literacy and self-service data discovery

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Seven or more years of experience in data governance, metadata management, data architecture, or closely related roles
  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with a data catalog or governance platform such as Alation, Collibra, Atlan, Microsoft Purview, or similar
  • Strong SQL and Python (or equivalent scripting) skills for automation and metadata pipelines
  • Experience working across both technical and business stakeholders in complex enterprise environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing enterprise data lineage and impact analysis at scale
  • Exposure to manufacturing or semiconductor data domains and systems, including ERP, MES, SPC/FDC, and yield data
  • Experience improving catalog adoption through stewardship models and measurable usage outcomes
  • Familiarity with regulated data environments, including quality systems, export controls, privacy, and SOX

Why Join Us

  • Own and scale a high-visibility enterprise data capability with real operational impact
  • Work in one of the most complex data environments in manufacturing and engineering
  • Build automation and integrations rather than simply administering tools
  • Operate with high autonomy, strong executive visibility, and a clear principal-level career path

Expected Salary Range

$124,000.00 - $208,000.00
