What this job involves:

This role is responsible for leading the Record-to-Report (R2R) operations for JLL globally through JLL Business Services (JBS) Corporate Finance Division. The position encompasses oversight of General Ledger Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Payroll Management, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Financial Business Partnering (FBP), VAT, and Basic Treasury functions housed within our internal capability centers spread across the world. You'll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture where like-minded people work naturally together to achieve great things. The role requires regular partnership and interaction with stakeholders including Controllership, GPOs, and Local Finance teams to deliver upon agreed operations metrics and drive operational excellence.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Lead R2R operations transformation and process re-engineering programs in support of the Global Finance vision by developing and executing comprehensive strategies aligned with JLL's overall business objectives across General Ledger Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Payroll Management, FP&A, FBP, VAT, and Treasury functions
  • Manage and oversee the Record-to-Report team to ensure seamless delivery of finance operations while building effective business partnerships with internal stakeholders including Controllership, GPOs and Local Finance teams across regions
  • Deliver operational excellence by consistently achieving process performance targets within robust control frameworks and agreed operational budgets, while continually seeking opportunities to deliver value through cost reduction or increased scope
  • Institute continuous process improvement mindset organizationally and drive simplification, standardization, and automation of R2R processes to achieve efficiency targets, improve Process and business outcomes and drive value back to the Business & Controllership teams. This includes execution of projects leading the improvement Journey to the process vision or north star.
  • Develop organizational capabilities through high-energy, high-performance work environments by motivating team members, providing effective leadership and coaching and fostering desired behaviors such as leadership, accountability and teamwork
  • Establish strong risk and governance models with clear accountabilities for process and controls execution, exception handling, issue management and resolution while ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, standards and compliance requirements, particularly for statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory filings
  • Lead adoption and integration of new technologies and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the R2R function, utilizing data-driven insights to make informed financial decisions and guide the organization towards a more data-centric approach
  • Establish and enhance relationship management with Controllers, Business finance and CTC process stakeholders to establish and run Governance, effective Performance metrics & KPIs meaningful to the business resulting in Positive stakeholder feedback and experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 15-20 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with a proven track record of successful finance transformation projects and high quality service delivery in R2R functions
  • Deep expertise in Record-to-Report processes including General Ledger Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, Payroll Management, Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Business Partnering, VAT compliance, and Treasury operations
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management, statutory reporting, tax regulations, business processes, and technology solutions
  • Strong leadership, communication, relationship building and stakeholder influencing skills with demonstrated ability to manage large, geographically dispersed teams
  • Proficiency in financial software and technology tools, ex: ERP systems (PeopleSoft) or similar platforms and Industry leading systems & tools ex: Oracle ARCS etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrix organization structure with multiple stakeholders across regions
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies and tools to drive process improvement and transformation initiatives with ability to establish North star / Art of Possible vision and Journey to get there

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Chartered Accountant or MBA or relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) and Post-qualification certifications or specialized training in areas such as IFRS, US GAAP, tax, or treasury management are a plus
  • Experience working in a shared services or global business services environment
  • Hands-on experience with finance transformation programs including system implementations and process standardization initiatives
  • Knowledge of automation tools and leading technologies in finance
