PHARMACY RESIDENT

PGY 1

BOISE, IDAHO

SUMMARY:

Serves as a provider of pharmaceutical care by assuring, promoting, and delivering safe, efficacious and cost-effective drugs and drug information with the goal of achieving outcomes that improve patient quality of life.  Care is provided under the framework and requirements of the ASHP Accreditation Standard for Pharmacy Practice Residents. 

Throughout the course of the program, the resident develops and sharpens advanced knowledge and skills in application of drug therapy for the prevention and treatment of human illness via a variety of experimental activities and projects as determined by the Director of Pharmacy.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited college or school of Pharmacy required.

  • Licensed with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy within 120 days of hire, or as guided by the residency program.

  • Within 6 months of hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Provides coverage and completes clinical rotations under the supervision of preceptors in each specialty.

  • Self-motivation to learn, prioritizes work, and maintains and documents progress on multiple simultaneous projects and responsibilities. Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.

  • Provides pharmaceutical care services to patients admitted to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

  • Educates pharmacy students in the clinical drug management of diseases. Completes special projects as assigned.
