Description
As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will design, develop, and scale precision assembly and measurement processes that directly shape the quality and reliability of Apple products. You'll lead the research and development of novel automation technologies, own complex engineering challenges from concept through high-volume production, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and global manufacturing partners to continuously raise the bar.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering 3+ years of engineering experience with custom automation equipment used for precision alignment, assembly, and/or measurement Hands-on knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), CCD vision systems, adhesive dispensing, laser sensors, PLCs, and PC-based control systems Hands-on automation experience in one or more of the following: automated adhesive dispensing, pick-and-place, robotics, AOI (vision/laser), active alignment, or automated fastening Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a global environment and operate independently under pressure Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to contract manufacturer sites
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience with DOE, failure analysis, and statistical process control; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T Experience with JMP and Six Sigma methodologies; Python scripting for data analysis and automation is a plus Familiarity with machine learning concepts and an understanding of how ML/AI can be leveraged for smart manufacturing applications Self-starter with strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a matrixed organization Proficiency in tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies NX CAD experience is a plus Mandarin language skills are a plus
