Job Description

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Integration Engineer to join us. In this role, you will join the Integration team supporting Telco 5G product offerings, where you will help design and implement the container platform for industry-leading telecommunication companies within the Kubernetes ecosystem. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with geographically distributed engineering teams and open source communities around the globe to deliver unified solutions. This role is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical expertise in Linux and Kubernetes while contributing to meaningful open source projects.

What you will do:

  • Research and integrate various Kubernetes and Telco features into unified solution designs.

  • Define and collaborate with Telco partners on Blueprints and system designs that pair Red Hat platforms with partner technology.

  • Develop, automate, and troubleshoot integrations while documenting root cause resolutions.

  • Establish long-term technical relationships with key partners to analyze requirements and deliver business outcomes.

  • Advocate for feature development by collaborating across Product Management, Engineering, and QE teams.

  • Publicize the team's work and innovations through blogs, web postings, or conference talks.

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor) to accelerate integration workflows and enhance code quality.

  • Develop and maintain technical familiarity with Red Hat's AI platforms, including OpenShift AI and RHEL AI, to effectively support partners integrating their solutions.

What you will bring:

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift technologies.

  • Solid experience with automation tools or scripting languages like Ansible, Bash, Go, or Python.

  • Understanding of networking technology, including protocols, tunneling, switching, and routing.

  • Understanding of Linux subsystems, including memory management, VFS, kernel module management, cgroups, and process scheduling.

  • Experience developing solution designs from concept to delivery in a distributed telecom environment.

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and use diagramming tools to visualize complex solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

The following are considered a plus:

      • Solid experience with Red Hat OpenShift, Open vSwitch (OVS), and Open Virtual Network (OVN).

      • Knowledge of container-related technologies such as Podman, CRI-O, or conmon.

      • Familiarity with NFV/CNF architecture, Edge designs, or O-RAN architecture.
