Sr Principle Engineering Architect

About the Role

Fivetran is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We’re looking for a Sr Architect Engineer for a dashboard and data modeling interface. Must be an experience Sr leader, and also an operator proficient with modern tooling stacks and AI assistants. Will be responsible for organizing and implementing much of the work around a new highly integrated product offering and an open source repo.

You’ll also be responsible for ensuring the technical excellence of our code and owned services, by reviewing code, contributing to architectural designs, and mentoring your junior colleagues.
 
This is a full-time hybrid role based out of our Oakland, CA office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

Technologies You’ll Use

•  Python, Django, Javascript, Claude Code, MCPs, Data Warehouses, SQL, Visualization Libraries. 

What You’ll Do

•  Build out a profiling engine for the automatic curation of extra schema metadata and a semantic typing system for use by data modelers and AI context
• Own and implement many core product features
• Drive and execute deep integrations into existing products and platform
• Balance features, scope and speed

For example, our required AI competencies for Engineering:

• Understand how to use AI code assist and coding agents to automatically generate code for features, bugs, testing, and investigation
• Ability to use conversational AI systems (like Claude, ChatGPT, and internal chatbots) to support researching, authoring, reviewing, and synthesizing various SDLC artifacts such as TDDs, PRDs, Postmortems, Test Plans, and Proposals
