Express Scripts’ Business Product Operations (BPO) team serves as a liaison between the business and technology to ensure capabilities support complex, large-scale implementations, new product/product enhancements, and client commitments. The BPO is responsible for business capabilities oversight and delivery, data governance and stewardship, pharmacy regulatory and telecommunication compliance, and supporting business stakeholders across the enterprise.
This role directly supports the Strategic Optimization Program.
This is a program-based leadership role established to support Evernorth’s PBM 3.0 Implementation. The role is expected to span the duration of the PBM 3.0 program lifecycle and is focused on enabling successful delivery, operational readiness, and transition to steady‑state operations.
This position is responsible for managing all aspects of Evernorth’s PBM 3.0 as a leader of the BPO team, including collaboration with portfolio management on technology capacity and resource allocation; daily interface with Technology Product Owners (TPO), leveraging Agile methodology; appropriate escalation with business and technology; and informed, collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and all levels of the technology organization. The BPO serves as a trusted advisor to clients and internal business and is expected to have a deep working knowledge across a broad ecosystem of technology capabilities and interconnections between tools.
What you'll do to make a difference:
Participate in defining business requirements with business sponsors, Technology Product Owners (TPO), and System Engineering teams for new and modified business applications, products, or client requests.
Apply new technical tools and techniques to support business within the digital and communication BPO space.
Apply Express Scripts project tools and methodologies to advance business applications, products, or client requests.
Provide input and insight into technical design of new and existing business applications.
Participate in essential meetings, ceremonies, and release planning conversations to ensure training or documentation resources support successful adoption.
Communicate and report on progress regularly with stakeholders, focusing on risks and dependencies to delivery.
Prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines.
Apply business, technical, and financial acumen to projects and portfolio activities.
Identify, define, advocate, prioritize, communicate, and manage the execution of corporate-wide, business-specific initiatives requiring technology enablement.
Collaborate cross-functionally across business areas to ensure initiatives are prioritized, planned, and delivered appropriately and timely, while aligning to enterprise goals and addressing obstacles.
Ensure initiative testing plans are effective and complete and support post-deployment review.
Mitigate escalations, concerns, and issues by identifying accountability and backup/alternate strategies to deliver timely solutions to the business.
Represent the BPO organization in large-scale strategic efforts, providing system knowledge, innovative thinking, and thoughtful contributions to support innovative solutions.
Represent the enterprise in a professional manner while actively serving as an expert externally, as needed.
What you need to be successful:
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Must be able to clearly and effectively convey information to stakeholders or clients and understand their needs. Ability to effectively pull out detailed requirements and establish an understanding of expected outcomes preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships, work well in a team, and influence others preferred.
Large cross-functional project management experience requiring significant technology engagement preferred.
Ability to effectively prioritize work, quickly identify impacts of competing and upcoming projects and initiatives, and manage accordingly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships preferred.
Strength in influencing and communicating effectively with multiple audiences and at all levels of the organization preferred.
Proven self-starter able to solve complex challenges with minimal guidance or day-to-day direction preferred.
Maintain knowledge base on new technology trends, solutions, techniques, and protocols preferred.
