The Caterpillar MineStar Implementation team has an opportunity for an energetic and committed person to join the technology group in our Perth or Brisbane office.

Job Purpose: Providing supervision and technical direction to a highly skilled team of technical specialists engaged in the deployment and support of mining technologies, supporting product or product/process development which accomplish technology implementation and new product introduction objectives. Responsible for supervising the team as they implement the MineStar product suite (autonomous Command for Hauling/Fleet systems) at new customer sites including upgrades to existing MineStar customers. You will effectively lead and manage the Implementation team as they engage in system configuration, solutions and coaching system usage to meet commercial contracts and mining business needs. You will build strong relationships, influence direct dealer and customer connections during the scoping, quoting and supervision of the implementation of MineStar projects.

Job duties include by not limited to:

  • This role requires a focus on product, process and employee development through maintaining an organizational culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, commitment and a sense of urgency toward business success; involving and integrating key stakeholders to ensure project success; communicating business strategy, goals, and direction; and continuous development of individuals and the organization

  • Team Leadership with strong collaboration with Project Management Office(PMO)/Commercial/Sales, New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Support, and Training teams

  • Mentor the team and supervise/train on our standard implementation processes and application usage of MineStar systems

  • Engage in scoping, quoting and mentoring the implementation of MineStar project delivery

  • Support the team’s technical implementation of system modules to specification and configure modules based on requirements gathered from business analysis

  • Close collaboration with our PMO team during execution of MineStar implementation projects, interacting with dealers/customers to accurately manage expectations of stakeholders throughout the development and execution of implementation projects

  • Ability to problem solve through technical investigation and resolution, including responding to customer questions

  • Ability to build relationships, consult with senior management, dealers/customers

Required qualifications and skills:

  • A technical degree and/or relevant mining systems experience through the implementation of complex technology systems, solutions and system optimisation/application and business support for large mining organizations

  • Demonstrated strong Team Leadership / Supervisor / Management experience

  • Proven record of strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from mine site sponsors up to senior management level

  • Strong customer focus and team-orientated attitude, able to build excellent relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals

  • High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

  • Ability to undertake up to 25% domestic and international travel
