About The Opportunity

The Events Sales Lead for Australia is a commercially-driven role focused on establishing WeWork as a preferred venue for private events and scaling event revenue across the Australian market. Based in Sydney to manage our largest cluster of assets, this role requires someone who is commercially driven, thrives on scoping and closing deals and is passionate about events, sales and marketing.

We are looking for a proactive professional who thrives on outbound prospecting, building a robust sales pipeline and navigating the full event sales cycle from initial inquiry to final invoicing. While you will lead the commercial strategy, contract negotiation and logistical planning for elevated activations, the on-site event execution is managed by the Community Teams. You are the essential bridge that ensures our sales promise aligns with operational excellence, driving impact, consistency and revenue growth across all our Australia locations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Outreach(50%)

  • Identify and acquire new clients across diverse source markets and industries using LinkedIn, local market research and targeted outbound strategies.

  • Build and maintain high-value relationships with private conference organizers and external event brokers to establish a consistent pipeline of third-party referrals into the Australian market.

  • Manage and update WeWork profiles on third-party event platforms to ensure premium positioning, high visibility and consistent lead generation.

  • Collaborate with the Area Director to produce a comprehensive marketing pack, including building profiles, space-specific brochures, transparent pricing structures and capacity charts.

  • Conduct market research and analyze trends to identify new opportunities for revenue growth and elevated member experiences across all Australia locations.

  • Partner with Sub-Market Specialists to ensure all Australia buildings are represented with high-quality photography, up-to-date floor plans and compelling digital assets.

Event Sales Operations  (50%)

  • Manage the end-to-end operational journey for all event leads, from handling events enquiries, conducting site tours (Sydney), quoting, contracting through to final billing.

  • Lead the logistical and operational planning of all high-profile activations, ensuring seamless coordination between cross functional departments and community teams.

  • Oversee the private events dashboard including events calendar, workflows, event documentation and invoicing.

  • Oversee the event compliance process, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are fulfilled and that venue contracts, compliance standards, and emergency plans are adhered to.

  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with third-party vendors, including catering, staffing, and production agencies.

  • Facilitate seamless handovers to the community teams to ensure the on-site event execution matches the client expectations.

  • Lead monthly reviews with the Area Director to evaluate the prospect pipeline and refine sales tactics to meet revenue targets.

  • Maintain a consistent booking velocity of 1-2 events per building per month across the 15-building portfolio in Australia, ensuring market KPIs on Event Revenue are achieved in line with budget.

About You

  • 3+ years experience related to Event Sales and Marketing, selling and delivering corporate and social events

  • Commercially aware, a born seller who is passionate about hospitality and has proven experience

  • Experience leading end-to-end deal cycles, including sourcing, structuring, negotiating, and closing event sales and partnerships

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets, and tight timelines under pressure.

  • Exceptional relationship management skills, comfortable presenting to and liaising with senior stakeholders.
