Cloud Solution ArchitectAbout your role:
As a Cloud Solution Architect, you will design and evolve complex systems that support critical products and services. You will collaborate with architecture, product, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and delivery teams to define system patterns, improve reliability, and drive modernization. Your work will help ensure our platforms are secure, scalable, and resilient so we can deliver compelling experiences for our clients and their customers.
What you'll do:
- Lead end-to-end systems engineering for highly available, large-scale platforms, including requirements analysis, design, implementation guidance, and operational readiness.
- Define and document system patterns, integration standards, and reference architectures that align with enterprise standards and technology roadmaps.
- Analyze performance, scalability, and resiliency characteristics of complex systems and drive improvements through design changes and optimization.
- Partner with product management and engineering teams to translate business and functional requirements into technical system designs and implementation plans.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and platforms for observability, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure orchestration.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers on systems design, reliability engineering, and best practices for secure, compliant operations.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure designs meet security, compliance, and privacy requirements and to remediate identified risks in system designs.
- Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.
Experience you'll need to have:
- 12+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure engineering designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale, distributed systems in enterprise environments.
- Experience with modern infrastructure technologies such as Linux or Windows server platforms, virtualization, and cloud or hybrid environments.
- Experience with scripting or programming (for example, Python or similar language) to automate system tasks, configuration, or deployments.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (for example, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or similar) to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Experience with configuration management or infrastructure-as-code tools (for example, Ansible, Terraform, or similar) or equivalent approaches to automation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience designing or operating systems in public cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience in the payments, financial services, or fintech domain, including knowledge of regulatory and security standards such as PCI.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with reliability-focused practices such as site reliability engineering (SRE), chaos engineering, or capacity planning.
How you'll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
Benefits at Fiserv:
- Fuel Your Life program to support your physical, financial, social, and emotional well-being.
- Paid holidays and generous time away policies.
- No-cost mental health support through Employee Assistance Programs.
- Living Proof program to recognize your peers’ extra effort with points redeemable for rewards.
