Job Description:

   

We’re looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to support and operate enterprise Linux and container platforms, with a strong focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), OpenShift, and UNIX environments. This role is hands-on and operational, responsible for platform stability, automation, security, and continuous improvement.

You’ll work closely with cloud, platform, and application teams to ensure Linux and OpenShift platforms are reliable, secure, and run to agreed standards.

What you’ll do

  • Operate and support RHEL, OpenShift, and UNIX platforms in production environments

  • Provide day‑to‑day operational support to customers and internal teams

  • Build, configure, and maintain Linux and OpenShift platforms to standard

  • Automate system provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using Ansible, shell scripting, or Python

  • Support OpenShift clusters, including upgrades, scaling, networking, and security

  • Monitor and troubleshoot Linux and OpenShift platforms, performing root cause analysis

  • Implement and maintain security controls, access management, and compliance standards

  • Support patching, lifecycle management, and platform upgrades

  • Work with DevOps and application teams to support containerised workloads

  • Contribute to platform documentation, standards, and operational runbooks

  • Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call roster

What you’ll bring

  • Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in production

  • Solid experience with OpenShift administration and operations

  • Experience supporting UNIX platforms (AIX, Solaris, or equivalent)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, platform, and application layers

  • Automation experience using Ansible, shell scripting, or similar tools

  • Understanding of Linux and container security best practices

  • Experience working in operational environments with SLAs and incident management

  • Clear, pragmatic communication and a problem-solving mindset
