Presales Engineer - HVAC Systems

What you will do

The Pre Sales Engineer is key a role directly reporting to Domain Leader – HVAC. You will be based in Dubai and will be a part of a growing team and be responsible for driving the growth of business for Install division segment of Building Technology and Solutions with focus on HVAC Systems.

You will be supporting sales team in application specific jobs and product information. As a member of this team, you will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for you to use your experience to support the team with the pre-sales/estimation.

How you will do it

As a Pre-sales engineer you will use your in depth knowledge of HVAC Systems to complete bid/proposals and meet the specifications set out by the customer. This will involve preparing RFI’s, attending site surveys, bid-clarification meetings, 

• seeking quotations from suppliers/sub-contractors, estimating in-house product costs and estimating costs for engineering, labor and project management. You’ll manage multiple tenders simultaneously, using your extensive estimation experience to co-ordinate with the client on specifications and technical clarifications ensuring we submit proposals that are competitive, meet requirements and are on time.
• As an Experienced Pre Sales Engineer, you need to have a good knowledge in designing and estimation of HVAC system solutions involving water cooled Chillers.
• As an HVAC solution specialist, you will be leading the peer-to-peer meetings with Operations; Procurement, commercial team and other internal stake-holders as necessary to ensure project scope, objectives, timeline, and customer requirements are complied as part of the solution proposed to the customer.
• chiller selections, including series counterflow configurations, fully aligned with project specifications and equipment schedules.
• Maintain strong knowledge of heat transfer principles, water‑cooled centrifugal chillers, including components, performance characteristics, and control strategies.
• Possess a solid basic understanding of chilled water plant systems, including primary/secondary flow configurations, major components (pumps, cooling towers, MV/LV starters and other accessories) and overall system operation to support accurate selections and technical discussions.
• Execute complex chiller part‑load performance mapping accurately under tight deadlines. 
• Conduct detailed energy analysis, including annual energy consumption and part‑load performance evaluation.

What we look for

Required

• Degree/Diploma – Mechanical or similar
• 7+ Years’ UAE experience in Estimation of HVAC systems
• Negotiation skills and vendor management
• Proficient in using MS Office Suite, Visio and AutoCAD tools.
• Result orientated, tenacious, self-motivated, strong synergy and a customer focused approach.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent inter-personal skills - must be able to adapt working style to the personalities and work styles of our stakeholders and internal partners.
• Fluency in the English language is essential.
• Understanding of Install / Applied business.
