About the role
We're seeking a lab technician to accelerate innovation and achieve things that have not been done before. In this role, you'll assist our R&D manager in a remote product development lab, bringing new gummy formulations to life monthly. If you're energized by experimentation, learning, and want to help create what hasn't been done before, we want to hear from you. This role reports to our R&D Manager and is a part of the Product organization.
- This role is onsite at our Innovation Lab in Tampa, Florida (Brandon area)
- Hourly Rate: $25/hr
- PTO: This role offers paid vacation & sick days
- Benefits: Coverage for you as well as your family, company pays 75%
- Targeted hours are Monday–Friday, approximately 9am–5pm ET, with some flexibility as business needs shift.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare and stage materials (pull ingredients, verify lot/COA if needed, label aliquots, prep solutions/syrups).
- Weighing + batching support under R&D manager direction (set up scales, verify tare, record weights, follow batch sheets, run experiments).
- Sample labeling (consistent labels, dates, batch IDs, storage conditions, handoff tracking).
- Inventory management (receive shipments, put-away, FIFO/FEFO rotation, restock min/max, track expirations, organize storage).
- Equipment upkeep + basic calibration checks (cleaning/maintenance schedules; log checks for balances, thermometers, pH meter, etc.).
- Consumables + supply readiness (keep disposables, containers, liners, PPE, labels, boxes stocked).
- Waste handling + safety compliance (chemical/food waste disposal, SDS awareness, PPE, incident reporting).
- Support testing workflows (pull retention samples, prep shipments for external labs/partners)
- Facility readiness (end-of-day reset, sanitize benches/sinks, dishwashing, etc).
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 1+ years in confectionary product development (gummy experience strongly preferred)
- Has 1+ years of experience working in a kitchen or lab environment
- ServSafe certificate, preferred but not required
- Excels as a collaborative communicator, working effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Shows strong organizational abilities to thoughtfully maintain work environment and equipment
- A passion for gummies and curiosity for science
