Responsibilities:

The Chemistry Lab intern/co-op will work to provide analytical, research, process optimization, data analysis, and environmental support to various business units throughout Marathon Petroleum Corporation and its affiliates. The intern will support these activities through special project work, day-to-day laboratory and field activities, and exposure to a variety of analytical techniques and methodologies (i.e. gas chromatography, wet chemistry, x-ray, data analytics, etc.). The special project work may meet the student’s capstone requirement.                                                            

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.

  • Concurrent enrollment in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience.

  • Strong academic performance.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications is preferred.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week.

  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • MIN - $21.06 per hour / MAX - $29.83 per hour
