Role Summary:

Develop and deliver a comprehensive category strategy, ensuring alignment with provided materials for consistency. Attain in-depth knowledge of your markets—including sub-categories, regional developments, and trends—as well as the supplier base. Additionally, understand both the current and potential needs of your stakeholders

  • Strategic Supplier Negotiations: Leverage Suppliers fiscal pressures, market conditions, and contract anniversaries to secure deeper discounts, optimized rate cards, and value-added services. Prioritize high-spend categories and suppliers with consolidation or rebate potential.

  • Critical Review of all 2026 Renewals: Conduct a challenge process for every renewal, focusing on eliminating low value subscriptions or services, renegotiating pricing for underutilized offerings, bundling opportunities for improved commercial value, and driving competitive pressure before renewal deadlines.

  • Competitive RFX Pipeline: Continue to get ahead of renewal opportunities and accelerate competitive bidding to drive market-based pricing.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Focus on long-term relationships with key suppliers which can lead to shared innovation and priority access to materials, which protects against volatile market disruptions and enhanced savings

  • Supplier Consolidation to Achieve 3% Reduction: Rationalize the supply base by shifting volume to preferred high performing suppliers. Consolidation increases leverage, improves service consistency, and reduces administrative overhead, directly contributing to the 3% consolidation target.

  • Demand Management: Prevent unnecessary purchases before they happen. Can eliminate rogue or "maverick" spend, which often accounts for significant value leakage.

  • Promptly monitor, verify, and submit accurate savings information to The Bank.

  • Actively managing "tail spend “- Focus on Candex or consolidation to top vendors.

  • Effective control practices: Educate and align stakeholders on Strategic Sourcing best practices, policy & process. Align to TPMO program – manage risk effectively.

  • DEI: Work with DEI team to identify opportunities for the inclusion of Diverse suppliers in sourcing events

Category: Alternate Procurement Channels (FastTrack, Rapid Remit, Amex P-CARD etc.,), including oversight of non -procurement managed categories 

  • Category strategy: Lead the design & implementation of alternate procurement channel strategy, collaborate and align with key stakeholders in driving long terms and short-term strategies, Category managers and key business stakeholders.

  • Demand planning & channel enablement: Review procurement managed and procurement non-managed spend categories, identity L4's which can be routed through alternate procurement channels. Engage Legal, SMEs, Category Manager, Business. Align for new L4's, risk review. Extend alternate procurement channels for new L4's and NT locations.

  • Spend Channel transactions oversight: Review Fast Track spend, suppliers common across primary & alternate procurement channels. Remediate & standardize vendor - spend channel.

  • Identify & Remediate Anomalies: Spend incorrectly routed through alternate procurement channels, remediate with Business & CMs, review and strengthen guard rails.

  • Training: Lead partner training / education and white glove support.

  • Category governance: Develop & implement robust category governance - contracts, spend concentration, Invoice compliance to contract & spend leakage. Analyze alternate procurement channels spend, identify opportunities - Catalog, shift spend to primary channels, reduce tail spend vendors.

  • Candex relationship management: Conduct reviews, evaluate new trends in tail spend management solutions.

Knowledge:

  • In depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement. Demonstrated experience in sourcing for indirect categories (e.g. IT).

  • Strong analytical, sourcing, negotiation and communication skills. Technically adept with basic application software; proficient in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel skills.

  • Experience with ERP system/ Peoplesoft. Demonstrated success in time management; superior project management skills, attention to detail; thorough and organized.


Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in Sourcing or Procurement related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Graduation or above degree in Business, Supply Chain Management MBA or other advanced degree and a professional Procurement/ Supply Chain Management designation (e.g. CSCP, CPM) are a strong plus.

Internal Eligibility Criteria:

  • 24 months as Consultant to move to Senior Consultant

  • 12 months as Senior Consultant for lateral movement
