Position Summary
The Operational Accounting Specialist will support the Administrative Billing and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure that invoices are completed and properly allocated to revenue and/or vendor passthrough streams. They will support internal and external audits, as well as establish and maintain accounting and billing reporting, policies, and controls.

What you will do:

  • Support Billing Manager by tracking and monitoring completion of accurate monthly invoices, leveraging communication, and reporting to ensure monthly metrics are met.
  • Be responsible for critically analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending/implementing solutions that leverage technology and business processes, in order to enhance billing efficiency and productivity.
  • Support projects, special billing requests, and quarterly audits by providing requested documentation that meets all audit requirements.
  • Assist in the importing of invoices into the accounting system, preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and ad-hoc financial reports as required.
  • Assist with month-end responsibilities including identification and accrual of unbilled invoices.
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as operations and management, in order to gather data, understand business needs, and provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Utilize various systems as needed, primarily DG, Salesforce and Accpac.
  • Perform various cross training functionalities as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an analytical, data-driven and/or mathematics-based role, including a strong understanding of accounting and billing concepts.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel at an intermediate or advanced level.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a leadership role.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Proactive and self-motivated; able to complete tasks independently within assigned deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other closely related field.


Education

  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or other closely related field, or equivalent experience (2+ years of relevant experience + high school diploma or GED).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$21.10 - $49.08

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
