Job Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
We’re looking for a Logistics Process Improvement Specialist to streamline, optimize and elevate our operations. Using LEAN principles and data-driven insights, you’ll uncover inefficiencies, design better workflows and deliver measurable results for our Data Center logistics team.
Key job responsibilities
As a Logistics Process Improvement Specialist, you will lead targeted process improvement projects across our Data Center logistics operations, applying LEAN, Kaizen and other operational excellence tools to deliver measurable results. You will map current workflows, identify bottlenecks and partner with operations teams to design and implement future-state processes that reduce waste, shorten cycle times, and improve accuracy.
You will work hands-on with logistics teams to pilot and roll out process changes, ensuring adoption through clear documentation, training, and KPI tracking. Using observational analysis and operational data, you will monitor results post-implementation, adjusting approaches to ensure sustained gains.
Alongside process improvement work, you will support day-to-day logistics, such as managing accurate inventory and parts checkouts for internal customers. Your responsibilities include arranging and supporting shipments, unpacking boxes and verifying contents, and maintaining clean, orderly and safe workspaces.
You will collaborate with inventory and transportation teams and data analysts to connect process changes with measurable performance improvements. You'll contribute to continuous improvement by coaching colleagues on LEAN concepts and encouraging problem-solving at every level.
This position involves occasional trips across the cluster and lifting materials up to 18kg (with support from teammates available).
A day in the life
Work within a diverse team with a 9:00-18:00 schedule on business days. Daily activities include:
- Leading process improvement projects using LEAN and Kaizen methodologies
- Mapping workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing future-state processes
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce waste
- Shipping and receiving parts, coordinating with vendors, processing orders
- Handling electronic components and lifting materials up to 18kg
The role spans office and storage areas, the data center facility, and occasional travel across the cluster to support other sites, with some environments reaching 75db noise levels. On-call duties are required after hours.
About the team
We provide the right items to our customers, safely, accurately and in a timely manner—ensuring our teams have what they need, when they need it.
Our logistics team supports data center operations by managing inventory that keeps critical infrastructure running. You'll work closely with technicians and engineers who depend on timely access to parts and supplies. We solve problems by anticipating needs, preventing stockouts, and ensuring smooth material flow. Our mission is simple: remove barriers so customers can focus on maintaining data centers. You'll be part of a diverse, international team that values precision, reliability, and customer obsession.
- Experience using lean process improvement, six sigma methodologies, or related performance metrics/process improvements to increase efficiency within processes, forecasting, planning, optimization, or logistics
