Job Description
About the opportunity
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Developer Experience (DevEx) segment.
In DevEx, our mission is to enable product engineers to move fast and safely. This role sits at the core of how software is built, tested, released, and operated at N26, with a strong focus on CI/CD, developer productivity, and delivery reliability.
You will lead a team responsible for evolving the internal software delivery platform, reducing friction in engineering workflows, and ensuring that CI/CD capabilities scale with the growth and complexity of the organization.
What you’ll do
As an Engineering Manager in the DevEx area, you will:
-
Lead and grow a DevEx engineering team focused on CI/CD, build & release pipelines, and delivery tooling
-
Coach, develop, and support engineers, fostering strong ownership and high engineering standards
-
Drive improvements to the end-to-end developer journey, from code commit to production
-
Partner closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and Principal Engineers to define and execute the DevEx and CI/CD strategy
-
Own and drive OKRs around developer productivity, delivery speed, reliability, and platform adoption
-
Continuously improve CI/CD workflows, with an emphasis on automation, standardisation, self-service, and fast feedback loops
-
Use engineering metrics (e.g. DORA, lead time, change failure rate) to identify bottlenecks and guide prioritisation
-
Work closely with other teams to unblock dependencies and ensure coherent developer tooling
-
Ensure that security, compliance, and quality controls are embedded into CI/CD pipelines by default
What you need to be successful
Background
-
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
-
3+ years of experience leading engineering teams

-
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders in complex, distributed systems
-
Ability to operate effectively in a high-autonomy, high-impact environment
-
Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Traits & Mindset
-
Developer Experience first mindset — you optimise for flow, not just output
-
Systems thinker, able to reason about scale, trade-offs, and long-term sustainability
-
Strong bias for action and continuous improvement
-
Comfortable challenging existing approaches when they no longer scale
-
Open, direct, and constructive communicator
-
Think globally, act locally
Nice to have
-
Experience in FinTech or other regulated environments
-
Experience working with internal developer platforms or self-service tooling
