At Salesforce, our global Product UX teams aspire to make tools that make a salesperson’s day more productive, a marketer’s campaign more powerful, or a developer’s app more feature-rich. Our UX designers craft Salesforce’s enterprise and consumer products; create new design patterns and guidelines for in our world-class design system; and partner with cross-disciplinary teams to bring inclusive, accessible and human-centered experiences to life.

Our talented people managers lead UX designers and engineers in crafting the product vision to build cohesive, trusted experiences that enable customer success. You will be responsible for coaching and directing design teams to address complex problems and propose clear, efficient, and consistent solutions. You will mentor your team of designers and guide them toward career goals, using performance management strategies to drive excellence.

The ideal candidate for this role is thoughtful, curious, and open to new ways of doing things. You have excellent communication skills, and can advocate for your team's work to product managers and engineers. You set an example by advocating for end users, using research insights, and encourage your team to do the same.

Experience / Skills Required

  • 5+ years experience designing and delivering products in cross-functional teams from start to finish.

  • 2+ years management experience, covering a full product lifecycle, from concept to release.

  • Led on-site and remote teams to create a healthy and high-performance culture.

  • Managed large and fast-moving design initiatives, while juggling competing priorities, to ensure a team’s on-time delivery.

  • Supported the creation of a product’s vision through collaboration with cross-functional partners.

  • Led strategic decisions based on analytics and user research.

  • Strong communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build consensus.

  • Expertise in user-centered design methods and ensuring accessible user experiences.

  • Skills in industry-leading design tools, such as Figma, along with ability to learn new tools.

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in design-related field, or equivalent experience.
     

Bonus:

  • Can foster usage of a design system, not just single-purpose apps.

  • Experience with, or professional interest in, next-generation experiences involving generative and predictive AI.

  • Experience with CRM or enterprise software.
     

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team of talented designers, optimizing culture and processes, to produce strong results while maintaining team focus and alignment.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop individuals, facilitating their career growth and celebrating their diverse perspectives.

  • Recruit, cultivate, and retain diverse and best-in-class talent from across the world; demonstrate behaviors, attitudes, actions, and good judgment that inspire employees to follow and trust.

  • Set the design vision for a product, guiding the team through its implementation, while identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

  • Drive large-scale design initiatives across multiple application experiences, manage priorities, and set expectations with cross-disciplinary contributors.

  • Communicate clear and compelling ideas to a wide range of key stakeholders using documentation, reviews, and presentations.

  • Serve as a bridge between design, product, engineering and quality experts, finding opportunities for new features and validating assumptions through user testing and research, to deliver a polished final product.

  • Promote and educate others on interface guidelines and design patterns to extend the existing style guides and design system.

  • Deliver software that is inclusive and universal, designed for users of multiple languages and abilities, adhering to WCAG and other industry standards.

  • Consider how design impacts ethics and equality, and speaks up if veering off course.
