Position Summary


The role of Head Finance Business Partner New Product Launches for Germany is an opportunity to join the Europe One Finance community and drive performance across our region.

Germany is GSK’s biggest market in Europe and a top three market globally, operating in an innovation driven environment. Strategic priorities include capitalizing on 15 upcoming launches, expanding real world evidence and clinical footprint, accelerating digital and AI enabled commercial excellence, and deepening partnerships with policymakers and healthcare stakeholders.

In this role, you will serve as finance head, owning decision grade Forecast Valuation and bottom up P&Ls that scale to EU, and partnering across Specialty, Oncology, and Vaccines to prepare L 24/L 18 launches, optimize resource allocation, and inform Medicines Commercialisation Team (MCT) decisions.

Your mission is to be a true finance partner, providing a strong voice in challenging and influencing decision-making. This involves interfacing with senior stakeholders, commercial teams and regional finance, providing strategic financial input, identifying opportunities and driving performance. You will lead Early‑Asset Forecast Valuation and Germany‑originated bottom‑up P&Ls (scalable to EU), align value‑to‑volume assumptions through Demand Review meeting/Launch Readiness review (DRM/LRR), and steer launch resourcing and investment prioritization to protect profitability while advancing GSK’s growth and innovation agenda.

Responsibilities
 

Early‑Asset Forecasting & P&L Ownership

  • Forecast Valuation & P&L: Own decision‑grade Forecast Valuation and bottom‑up P&Ls for Early assets, including optimal resource/investment analysis, building base/upsides/downsides that are ready for governance and scalable to EU planning.

  • Assumptions & Scenarios: Define, challenge epidemiology, uptake, price/access, and supply assumptions; maintain transparent and comprehensive scenario plans and R&O registers for governance milestones.

Launch Readiness & Resourcing

  • L‑24/L‑18 Cadence: Contribute to L‑24/ L‑18 bottom‑up submissions, including resource implications and offline templates; support handshakes with Access, Medical, and Supply for LRR decision readiness.

  • Activation Support: Translate forecast outcomes into clear investment asks and resourcing options, enabling timely activation decisions and first‑time‑right LRR outcomes.

Performance Integration & Reporting

  • DRM: Integrate early‑asset assumptions into the DRM, reconcile value‑to‑volume, and track a 3‑10 years horizon with crisp variance narratives and mitigation plans.

  • Standardize cross‑BU methodology (SBU, Oncology, Vx) so DE outputs can serve as EU scale‑up templates.

Pricing, Access & Market Economics

  • Pricing Governance: Partner with Market Access to pressure‑test price corridors, run sensitivity analyses across access scenarios, and prepare evidence‑based recommendations for pricing approval forums.

nvestment Prioritization & Portfolio Scenarios

  • ROI & Trade‑offs: Model investment options (medical, access, promo, field) and quantify returns to inform prioritization across assets and milestones.

  • Scenario Planning: Lead structured what‑ifs on timing, label, access and capacity; articulate implications for EU scale‑up and Plan.

  • Profitability Focus: Identify margin levers and SG&A guardrails for launch phases; embed actions into DRM/MPR follow‑up.

Data‑Driven Decision Making & Digital/AI

  • AI‑enabled Forecasting: Leverage the AI forecasting roadmap where in‑scope; codify overlays for NPIs/tenders and continuously tune with Demand/Supply

  • Advanced Analytics & Tools: Use Genie, MMM insights, and other enterprise data products to refine assumptions, spot opportunities, and accelerate analytics; promote adoption and good practice across Finance and Commercial

Qualifications/Skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Finance or business degree and/or Professional qualification (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA, MBA or international equivalent).

  • 5 years’ experience in financial roles

  • Experience in financial modelling, scenario planning and investment appraisal for decision-making recommendations in complex business challenges. Demonstrated experience in financial planning/ forecasting, including understanding of financial systems and processes (CERPS, Bison, CF/CCC, VISTA)

  • Ability to translate data into strategic recommendations and embed data-driven decision-making behaviours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Breadth of experience across different business areas, contributing to an enterprise level perspective 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and shape senior leadership decisions with material strategic and financial impact, building credibility and challenging constructively across global, regional, and LOC stakeholders

  • Experience operating effectively with senior stakeholders in complex, cross functional, matrix environments

  • Proven ability to lead and drive change in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with competing priorities

  • Demonstrated risk management, process improvement, and project management skills

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry or similarly highly regulated environments

  • Experience leading digital transformation across finance or commercial teams, including automation, AI-enabled insights, and adoption of advanced analytics platforms (e.g., MMM, Genie). 

Work Location:

This role is based in Munich, Germany, and offers a hybrid working model, combining on-site and remote work.
