Electrical Design Drafting Specialist

What will you do?

• Create or modify technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software AutoCAD.
• Translate Electrical technical documents and sketches into detailed drawings for construction or shop drawings.
• Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet regulatory requirements
• Perform dimensional and calculation checks to verify design accuracy and compliance with building codes or engineering standards.
• Maintain and update CAD files and documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility for project teams.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/3D, or similar) and familiarity with drafting standards. BIM proficiency is a plus.
• Strong understanding of design principles and spatial relationships, including geometric tolerances nd perspective
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to address design challenges and optimize solutions
• Attention to detail and ability to produce precise, high-quality drawings
• Communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Able to work with locals and multinationals
• Computer literate and required skills for the following: Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Teams Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Experience, Education and other Required:

• Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Drafting, Mechanical Electrical or related field
• Work Experience: Prior CAD drafting or design experience-10 years or more in construction involving electrical works in power generation projects, industrial plants. Rail projects is a plus.E
• experience in substation design and drafting with BIM expertise is an added advantage.
• Hands on experience on AutoCAD 2d platforms.
• Sufficient speed in 2D drawing preparation.
• Understanding of electronic records management systems.
• Previous experience of working on relevant infrastructure projects in the Middle East or Asia pacific regions is a plus.

Competencies/ Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical or electronics engineering.
• Sound knowledge on AutoCAD tools and proven work experience on the same.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent in communication (both written and spoken English) and collaboration, to interact with external and internal parties at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.
• Adaptable to change.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and tight deadline, handle and find fulfilment in dynamic and heavy construction work environment.
• Willingness to deliver ad hoc tasks as and when the site required.
