About the role

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve – we care.

What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement, the Continuous Improvement Project Manager plays a critical role in improving how the SCO distribution network performs over time by framing the right operational problems and turning them into proven, scalable solutions. The role works closely with Operations and Supply Chain leaders to identify opportunities that materially improve service, safety, productivity, and cost, grounded in real operating conditions.

The role also builds strong working relationships with partners such as Six Sigma, SDx, Engineering, and IT to help identify, define, prioritize, and pilot improvements that are practical, understood, and ready to be owned by the business. Success requires sound judgment, operational credibility, and a continuous drive to challenge the status quo in ways that improve how the system works.

Position must reside in close proximity to a Pharma distribution center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Frames and leads work on high‑impact operational problems across the distribution network in partnership with DC leadership.

  • Leads analysis and pilots in live DC environments to validate solutions under real operating conditions.

  • Delivers improvements ready for execution and ownership by Operations and partner teams, with clear outcomes and trade‑offs.

  • Partners cross‑functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, and Six Sigma to align priorities and support effective rollout.

  • Influences through operational credibility and judgment, building trust with leaders and frontline teams.

  • Scales learning across sites by sharing insights and reducing duplication of effort.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in operations, supply chain, or continuous improvement within a distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex work through influence, not position.

  • Proven experience framing problems and driving change in live operating environments.

  • Sound operational judgment with the ability to navigate service, safety, labor, and cost trade‑offs.

  • Clear communicator, comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.

Position Requirements

  • Strong operational mindset with the ability to understand and work within real distribution center constraints.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and credibly with frontline teams, site leadership, and senior leaders.

  • Proven problem‑solving skills with sound judgment in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.

  • Comfortable working with limited direction and prioritizing work based on business impact.

  • Analytical capability to interpret operational data and translate it into practical decisions.

  • Flexibility to support a 24‑hour distribution operation, including variable hours as needed.

  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 50% to support distribution centers.
