The role of Manager of Production Planning and Inventory is responsible for delivering production plans for co-manufacturers and co-packers, maintaining adequate inventory levels, mitigating obsolescence, and conducting root cause analyses as needed.    

Role Responsibilities

  

  • Production Planning

    Oversee day to day operations of production planning 

    Create and maintain planning tools

    Create 12 month rolling forecasts for all co-manufacturers and co-packers 

    Issue purchase orders to execute production 

    Work with procurement team to ensure materials are available to execute production plans  

    Work with fulfillment team to ensure product is available to support orders 

    Work with demand planning team to refine volumes needed for production plans 

    Root Cause systemic issues with production performance through metrics; follow through on communicating to management  

    Strategically work to optimize production plans to support cost savings initiatives Creating SOPs to ensure alignment on process and cross functional training 

    Inventory Management

        

    Maintain targeted inventory levels by maintaining supply need outlook for next 12 months 

    Process work orders and transfer orders in ERP system to track inventory levels 

    Work with logistics team to prioritize shipment inbounds  

    Conducts inventory reconciliations across all warehousing, co-manufacturing, and co-packing locations 

    Be on-site at warehouses, co-manufacturers, and co-packing locations to conduct physical inventory counts as needed 

    Resolve inventory discrepancies and communicate to finance root cause and action needed to correct discrepancies 

    Report inventory at risk of reaching 50% shelf life 

    Report forward looking inventory report to predict future obsolescence; call out future obsolescence risk and build mitigation plans cross functionally 

     

Education / Certifications:

High school diploma (college degree preferred)

Job specific requirements:

  • 5+ years professional experience (production planning and inventory experience preferred)

  • People management (preferred)

  • Knowledge of Netsuite ERP (preferred)

This role is hybrid, based at our East Hanover office, and requires three days onsite per week.

Salary and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is $86,900 to $119,515; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education and location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
