Highlights:
Summary: The Student Ultrasonographer will work with a registered Ultrasonographer to complete ultrasound exams. The Student will be responsible to prepare patients for exams, screen patients for procedures, transport patients, complete exam worksheets, and stock and prepare exam rooms. This individual will also assist in the performance of ultrasound exams. Additionally, the Student will assist the registered Ultrasonographer in the completion of exams and procedures. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.Education / Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited Ultrasound Program. Must have Sonographic Principles and Instrumentation for ARDMS. License / Certification: BLS required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Advanced anatomy knowledge
• Ultrasound physics
• Proper sterilization techniques
• Professional bedside manner
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Operate ultrasound equipment and Non-Invasive Vascular equipment
• Provide ongoing patient assessment through observation of patient and recordsWork Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 50% of the workday and mobility 50% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
