Fabricator / Welder
Arizona
1st Shift: 7am - 430pm, M-F
Compensation: $20 per hour
Purpose of Role:
Townley Engineering and Manufacturing, located in Eloy, AZ has an opening for a Welder. Townley continues to be the industry leader in providing unique wear solutions for abrasion and corrosion problems found in dredging, mining, and powerplant process circuits.
Responsibilities:
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter
- Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
- Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and thicknesses of metals
- Connect and turn regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure so that desired flames are obtained
- Melt and apply solder along adjoining edges of workpieces to solder joints, using soldering irons, gas torches, or electric-ultrasonic equipment
- Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material
- Grind, cut, buff, or bend edges of workpieces to be joined to ensure snug fit, using power grinders and hand tools
- Check grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments
Requirements:
- 2 years of welding experience ideally and we will consider all combination of education and work experience together.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Ability to read tape measure, micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time on concrete
- Ability to tolerate excess heat and humidity
