Job Description

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, COMPONENTS TEST

At SpaceX, we are leveraging our experience in building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world's most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the world's largest satellite constellation, providing fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We are looking for a talented manufacturing engineer to support the production of Starlink satellites, who will be responsible for leading the efficient and reliable acceptance testing of satellite electronics, development of advanced electrical test systems, and evolution of production and testing processes.

  • Evaluate non-conforming hardware, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance reliability and reduce defects.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to conceptualize, design, validate, and document integrated test systems, fixtures, racks, and supporting hardware.
  • Identify and drive improvements to design, processes, configuration management, safety, and factory layout to optimize yield, performance, cost, and manufacturability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics or other STEM discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, test, or design of electronic products or hardware (internships and project team experience is applicable)

  • Knowledge of statistical methods (DoE, Six Sigma, OEE) and IPC standards for data-driven process improvements
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Python, C/C++, SQL, TwinCAT, or similar) and automation
  • Experience with CAD/PLM software (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Teamcenter) and drafting standards, GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed schematics, drawings, instructions, and mechanical/fluid/electrical system concepts
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, documentation, configuration management, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to scale products from prototype to high-volume production in fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environments
  • Strong adaptability, attention to detail, concentration, and efficiency while rapidly changing roles/responsibilities
