Position Overview

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT’s) monitor and assist adolescent clients in the residential milieu, lead activities designed to help the residents adjust to living in a community setting and assist the residents in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder. BHT’s play an integral role in the day-to-day function of the clients’ experience.

Schedule

  • Part-Time 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week) Evening/Overnight
  • Evening Shifts: 2pm-10:30pm, 4pm-12:30am
  • Overnight Shifts: 10pm-6:30am
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Schedule is made a month at a time with a combination of both evening and overnight shifts

Compensation Disclosure

  • BHT I: Starting hourly range between $18.00-$21.00

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

How BHT’s Empower Recovery

  • Partners with the multi-disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions, supporting or assisting clients in programming
  • Participates in therapeutic meals and snacks and provides support during structured outings and recreation
  • Available to engage, challenge, and support residents as needed. Reports observations and documents in charts
  • Monitors and supports bathroom use per client treatment direction. Monitors and documents exercise.
  • Responsible for enforcing appropriate policies with residents and completing all expected tasks including hourly room-checks

Minnesota Requirements:

· An Associate’s degree in a mental health–related field (such as mental or behavioral health, counseling, or behavioral sciences) is required to meet Minnesota DHS licensure standards for the Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker classification.

Or

· A high school diploma and at least one year / 2,000 hours of direct patient care experience in a mental or behavioral health setting is also required.

Professional Qualifications:

· This is an entry-level position; however, 6+ months of direct client care / milieu experience in a mental/behavioral health or healthcare setting, particularly with eating disorders is preferred.

· Completion of Preceptor Program preferred.

Other Qualifications:

· Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites must have a valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.

· Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

· Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites are required to have a current First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

· Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites in North Carolina or Georgia are required to have a current CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

· Employees at Residential site in Washington are required to have a Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire.
