About the role
Job Description:
The focus of this role is to work in a team environment to implement research protocols, provide cat and dog training and participate in daily care and management for the pets within the Royal Canin Petcare Feeding Facility. The role may include cleaning of the facilities, socialization, training, and exercise to provide optimal animal models for nutritional research.
What are we looking for?
AAS, BS or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (the biological sciences, nutrition, veterinary, physiology, animal nutrition, biochemistry, etc.) is preferred.
Experience in Cat and Dog nutritional testing.
Data Collection and QC management.
Excellent Communication and Organizational skills
Good Laboratory Practices
What will be your key responsibilities?
Associate of the Protocol Execution Team
Completion of feeding trials and protocols (Palatability, Digestibility and Specialized Protocols). This includes all aspects of Panel Management (food preparation, feeding, weight management, body condition Scoring, fecal scoring, body weights, focused training, supply management, etc.).
Record requested data according to study protocols; verifying the quality and accuracy of the data being delivered back to the business.
Collection and preparation of biological samples according to study protocols.
Perform animal behavior and obedience training following the Mars Standards. This includes implementing behavior modification plans, training for research activities, and support for rehoming.
Monitor pet health (both mental and physical) for any veterinary and/or enrichment needs.
Responsible for assisting the Health Care Team in treatment and research collections as needed.
Responsible for following the Mars Quality Management System (QMS).
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
Ability to work in hot, cold, dry, and wet weather conditions
All other activities, tasks, project work, and responsibilities as assigned.
