Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Machesney Park, IL

ITW Shakeproof’ s Machesney Park facility is responsible for large diameter and specialized fasteners for the Division's OEM and Tier/Distribution customers. 

We are currently looking for a 2nd Second Shift Production Supervisor to support the instruction, management, and activities of the production team within the Machesney Park facility. This individual will serve a key leadership role in the Plant and will be responsible for the training and enforcing of health, safety, quality, and work rules of all 2nd shift production team members. The successful candidate will enthusiastically mentor and motivate the team to deliver a quality product on time while maintaining adherence to Company policies.

The Production Supervisor leads their team directly from the Shop floor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works closely with the Plant Leaders and Operations team to improve productivity and efficiency by setting production, safety and attendance expectations and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Monitors daily production activities.
  • In conjunction with Operations teams creates a transparent, ITW values-based culture, emphasizing individual development in a team-based environment committed to the highest standards of quality for our customer-driven products.
  • Promotes an initiative-taking safety culture and environment and ensure compliance with safe work practices.
  • Maintains machine and production schedules and ensures the schedule is followed.
  • Troubleshoots production issues and escalates as needed.
  • Trains or assists training new and existing team members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Communicates with production control, customer service (when needed), and the Management teams. These communications include the status of Manufactured parts completion and incoming shift hand-off information.
  • Manages team members by leading hiring and training efforts, provide ongoing feedback, conducts mid -year and annual performance evaluations, and track attendance.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment following ITW 5S principles.
  • Identifies production-related issues and facilitates timely and effective resolution using problem ITW solving techniques.
  • Expedite hot jobs through production process as needed.
  • Report daily production outcomes and operational updates to Production Manager.
  • Incorporates ITW 80/20 principles in decision making and operational practices.
  • Other responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma, or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior leadership and supervisory experience required; 3+ years’ operations experience in a manufacturing environment. Cold heading or rolling experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with single‑die headers, progressive headers, or high‑speed thread rollers strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in Automotive Industry is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required, bilingual English-Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Strong leadership skills, including problem-solving, motivating employees, conflict resolution, and delegation.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, maintenance instructions, standard operating procedures, and blueprints.
  • Basic mathematical ability and computer skills (Microsoft office) required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.

Compensation Information:

$70,000-$87,000
