Job Description Summary

The Production Maintenance Manager leads all maintenance operations within a highly automated material handling and production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of conveyor systems, sortation equipment, automation controls, production equipment, and facility infrastructure.

The successful candidate will oversee maintenance technicians and vendors, drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manage facility and equipment repairs, ensure regulatory compliance, support capital projects, and partner with operations leadership to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.

 

 

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance teams.
• Oversee maintenance of conveyors, sortation systems, automation equipment, PLCs, VFDs, robotics interfaces, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Manage HVAC, plumbing, lighting, utilities, and building systems.
• Drive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs through CMMS.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency repairs and minimize operational downtime.
• Analyze maintenance KPIs and reliability metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, inventory, service contracts, vendors, and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, safety, and lockout/tagout requirements.
• Lead safety initiatives, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Develop maintenance standards, SOPs, and best practices.
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, and facility improvements.
• Provide maintenance and reliability updates to operations leadership and customers as needed.
• Participate in on-call support and emergency response activities.

 

Qualifications:

• Qualifications  Education & Experience 
  • Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or related technical field preferred. 
  • Equivalent combination of education, military experience, technical certifications, and applicable maintenance leadership experience will be considered. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience supporting conveyor, material handling, manufacturing, production, distribution, or automated warehouse environments. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance management or supervisory experience leading technical teams. 
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). 
  • Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance methodologies. 

Technical Requirements

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining: 
  • Conveyor systems and sortation equipment 
  • Motors, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, belts, and bearings 
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) 
  • PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems 
  • Photo eyes, sensors, scanners, and control devices 
  • Electrical distribution systems up to facility operating voltages 
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems 
  • Robotics interfaces and automated equipment 
  • Industrial controls and motor control centers 
  • Packaging, palletizing, or automated material handling systems 
  • Preventive maintenance planning and execution

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS platforms. 
• Strong organizational and project management skills. 
• Ability to make critical decisions during equipment failures and operational emergencies. 
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call support as business needs require. "

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $ 106,250.00 - $125,000.00
