Job Description

Paperless Post is reimagining invitations through design and technology. We have millions of people using our site to create, send and track beautifully designed cards and invitations. To date, Paperless Post users have sent over 100 million cards and invitations for their most important life occasions. That generates a lot of data! It’s our job as a data team to take all that data, and use it to improve our customer experience, and our business in general.

We’re looking for a smart, driven junior data engineer to help with all the amazing things our data team is working on. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in statistics and programming, who wants to work on projects on a seasoned internal data team. You will have both the freedom and responsibility to work on important projects, while having the guidance and support of an experienced and skilled team.

Our team:
The Data team plays a crucial role in the success of Paperless Post. On the reporting side, we help ensure all departments have the data and reporting functionality they need to make good business decisions. We also do advanced data work, from in-depth analysis, to building pipelines and classifiers, that increase the data capabilities of everyone throughout the company. If you are excited about doing fun things with data, and solving business problems, this is the job for you!

Some projects you’ll work on:

  • Helping make improvements to our event classifier and other data applications
  • Creating dashboards and KPIs for our Management team
  • Working on the full lifecycle of business problems: from framing the question, to gathering the data, to doing the analysis, to helping people understand and act on the results.


About you:

  • Background in a technical discipline: Math / Statistics / ML / Computer Science
  • Understanding of databases
  • Knowledge of R, Python, SQL, Ruby or JavaScript
  • Desire and willingness to take on new challenges and learn new things
  • An understanding of how to use data within a team to solve real-world problems
