About the role
At Vanta, our mission is to help businesses earn and prove trust. We believe that security should be monitored and verified continuously, and we empower companies to practice better security and prove it with ease. Vanta has a kind and talented team, and while some have prior security experience, many have been successful at Vanta without it.
As a Salesforce Engineer at Vanta, you will develop technical systems and build Salesforce solutions that power our go-to-market organization. You'll build integrations, develop automations, and partner with Business Systems and Revenue Operations teams to enable our Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams to scale efficiently.
The Business Systems team owns the platforms and infrastructure that GTM teams rely on daily. We build and maintain Salesforce, integration workflows, data pipelines, and automation that help Vanta scale while delivering exceptional customer experiences. As Vanta continues to grow, your work will directly enable that growth by building systems that support increasing complexity and volume.
You'll bring technical expertise in Salesforce development—including Apex coding, declarative automation (Flows), data modeling, and integrations—combined with strong problem-solving skills. You'll work on challenging technical problems involving system integrations, data architecture, and business logic implementation. This role balances hands-on development with cross-functional collaboration as you ship code daily while partnering with stakeholders across GTM teams.
What you’ll do as a Salesforce Engineer at Vanta:
Build Salesforce solutions using both code (Apex, Lightning Web Components) and no-code tools (Flows, Process Builder, Validation Rules, Formula Fields)
Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and GTM tools using Workato, APIs, and integration best practices
Contribute to data modeling and architecture decisions to ensure data integrity and system performance
Partner with Business Systems teammates and Revenue Operations stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following Salesforce best practices
Troubleshoot technical issues across the GTM systems landscape
Participate in code reviews, deployment processes, and technical documentation
Optimize system performance and contribute to reducing technical debt
Support release planning and contribute to technical roadmap discussions
How to be successful in this role:
5+ years of Salesforce development experience with Apex programming skills
Experience with Salesforce data modeling, system design, and building scalable solutions
Experience building integrations between Salesforce and third-party systems
Familiarity with integration platforms such as Workato, Zapier, MuleSoft, or similar tools
JavaScript experience for building custom user interfaces
Understanding of Salesforce best practices including governor limits, bulkification, and design patterns
Experience with version control (Git) and deployment tools (Salesforce DX, Gearset, or similar)
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and debug across integrated systems
Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience working with Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, or similar business teams
Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II) are a plus but not required
