Help grow a safer, cleaner, healthier future for everyone, every day.

Company description:

TeDan Surgical Innovations (TSI) designs and manufactures specialty surgical products for use in orthopedic, neuro, thoracic and spine surgeries. TSI was founded in 2006 with the goal to innovate and address evolving retraction techniques in spine surgery. We have successfully addressed the need for minimally invasive, posterior, lateral and anterior surgical approaches to the spine, and have introduced access instrumentation for neurological, orthopedic and cardiothoracic procedures. We commit to providing innovative, high-quality surgical access systems designed to optimize exposure and improve the surgeon experience.

Job Summary:

The Production Planner is responsible for translating demand into executable production plans that optimize capacity, inventory, and service levels across machining and assembly operations. This role serves as the central coordination point between Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production, ensuring alignment between demand, supply, and execution.

The Production Planner owns the integrity and execution of the production schedule, drives adherence to planning processes, and enables flow through data-driven decision making. This role is critical to implementing a structured Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process, improving schedule stability, and supporting Lean manufacturing principles in a high-mix, low-volume regulated environment.

Duties/Essential Job Functions:

  • Own the production schedule by translating demand, inventory, and capacity data into clear, executable plans for machining and assembly.
  • Analyze constraints, bottlenecks, and disruptions, then make timely adjustments to protect delivery, flow, and service levels.
  • Drive disciplined execution of daily, weekly, and monthly planning processes, including work order release, schedule adherence, and SIOP support.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Supply Chain, Sales, Engineering, and NPI to align priorities, materials, and system data with operational needs.
  • Maintain high integrity of planning data, including BOMs, routings, cycle times, lead times, and ERP/MES signals, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Use strong analytical judgment to support capacity planning, inventory decisions, and scenario analysis such as overtime, outsourcing, and make-versus-buy tradeoffs.
  • Track key planning KPIs and lead continuous improvement efforts that increase schedule stability, reduce waste, and improve material flow.
  • Execute with a high level of ownership and accountability, clearly communicating risks, trade-offs, and required actions to leadership.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success in high-mix, low-volume operations, building executable schedules and managing shifting priorities with urgency and accuracy.
  • Strong command of ERP/MRP systems and planning data, with the ability to maintain high data integrity and translate information into decisions.
  • Advanced analytical capability, including strong Excel skills and comfort with data analysis or visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Track record of disciplined execution, clear communication, and personal accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Syteline, Infor, Misys preferred.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
  • Experience supporting or leading SIOP processes.
  • Familiarity with MES systems and production data environments.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs occasionally, and work in a manufacturing environment.
