What You’ll Do At Elekta:

The AI Solutions Engineer will play a key role in Elekta’s AI‑driven service transformation by designing intelligent solutions, solving complex problems, and analysing data to create impactful and scalable AI systems. This role focuses heavily on problem‑solving, solution design, and data understanding, using AI - primarily LLMs - to enhance technical support, predictive maintenance, automation, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • AI System & Workflow Design – Design and prototype AI driven workflows and applications. Focus on understanding business problems and creating solutions that meaningfully improve efficiency and user experience.

  • Rapid Prototyping & Iterative Development – Translate requirements gathered through dialogue with stakeholders into fast, functional prototypes and refined production systems.

  • Data Analysis & Understanding – Analyse structured and unstructured data to inform AI solution design. Apply strong data reasoning to identify patterns, insights, and opportunities.

  • Software & API Development – Develop applications and integrations using Python, SQL, or other programming languages. Implement APIs and backend logic that enable AI powered functionality.

  • AI Model Integration (LLM Focused) – Deploy and integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into service workflows. Use AI assisted programming tools to accelerate development.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration – Work with service teams, IT, product, and engineering groups to understand needs, communicate design decisions, and ensure smooth adoption of AI solutions.

  • AI Monitoring & Lifecycle Management – Track performance, behaviour, and reliability of AI systems. Support lifecycle operations including retraining, improvements, and alignment with business impact.

  • Innovation & Research – Stay current with AI advancements, especially in LLMs and other neural network based techniques. Identify opportunities to expand and refine Elekta’s AI capabilities.

  • Risk, Security & Compliance – Ensure adherence to ethical, regulatory, and data governance standards across all AI solutions.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM field (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.) or equivalent qualification/experience.

  • Understanding of AI compliance, data security, and relevant regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

  • Programming experience in Python or SQL preferred, but experience with any modern programming language is acceptable.

  • Experience with AI assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.).

  • High level understanding of:
    o Large Language Models (LLMs), their architecture, behaviours, and practical use cases.
    o Neural networks and broader AI concepts, without requiring deep low level implementation knowledge.

  • Data engineering or data pipeline development experience.

  • API development and integration experience.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
