Position Summary
The Area Sales Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving sales performance and team development across the GAP region in Turkey. Leading a team of Technical Sales Representatives, the role combines strong agronomic expertise with people leadership, customer engagement, and commercial insight. The position plays an active role in the local senior management team and collaborates closely with colleagues across FMC globally.
Location: Sanlıurfa, Mardin or Diyarbakır, Turkey
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a regional team of Technical Sales Representatives
- Drive sustainable sales growth and market development across the GAP region
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key growers, distributors, advisors, and food‑chain partners
- Support field activities, including product demonstrations and technical recommendations
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regional performance, providing regular reporting
- Coordinate and prioritise team activities to ensure effective daily execution
- Support collection follow‑up in line with company policies
- Contribute actively to the local senior management team and cross‑functional collaboration
Mandatory Requirements:
- Degree in Agronomy or a related agricultural discipline
- Proven experience in sales within the crop protection or agricultural input industry
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching and team development
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to operate in a competitive market
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Fluency in Turkish, English language skills are a plus
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the region
