Highlights:

Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist shall perform duties involved with the treatment, management control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and/or abnormalities within the Pulmonary system. The Therapist shall all routine and complex respiratory care procedures to patients of all ages. Communicates with Physician and Respiratory team on patient's progress within the care plan; as well as to make recommendations regarding patient's progress. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Education / Experience: Degree in Respiratory Therapy required, Bachelor's of Science in Respiratory Care preferred. If credentialed after 2002, must maintain active membership status for credentials issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care. License / Certification: Active ASBRT LRT required, Active NBRC RRT required, BLS required, Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must have the ability to successfully complete work within rigid time constraints.
• Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires walking 33% sitting 33%, and standing 33% of the time during the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Must be able to push and pull equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and beds. Requires occasional interfacility transport via ground transportation.
