POSITION SUMMARY
The Commercial Credit Risk Control Officer is responsible for supporting a robust control and operational environment within commercial and consumer credit by establishing and monitoring controls, developing and generating applicable reporting, assessing impact of regulatory changes, managing and updating operating procedures, providing support for internal/external audits, credit administrative support including generating and managing letters, supporting record retention, and technology for U.S. Consumer and Commercial lending strategy teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain strong knowledge of Citibank credit policies / practices and regulatory policies / requirements, to assist business in achieving compliance standards and satisfactory ratings from internal and external auditors.
- Identify, develop, install and maintain proper controls and compliance disciplines by working with the management team and business support partners to ensure business standards are met.
- Actively participate in all internal and external audit processes as required with responsibility for the gathering of deliverables, responses to process inquiries and other audit needs as required. Provide oversight and coordination of closing process gaps as applicable.
- Provide oversight and coordination of business activities required to ensure adherence to all policy & procedures – inclusive of ARCM and Quality Standards, Records Management, MCA, Impact Assessments, Vendor Management, management of Regulatory & Policy changes.
- As a liaison with external business partners, provide oversight and coordination of business projects as required for system upgrades, risk policy process changes, MIS reporting needs and other ad hoc projects necessary within credit operations to drive client excellence. Manage implementation and monitor results to ensure expected outcomes are met.
- Build a solid knowledge of Citibank products and services within Consumer and Commercial lending including strategy, channels, portfolios, loan lifecycle to ensure business controls are adequate and procedures documented accordingly.
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies that reduce costs and improve client service levels through automation and other re-engineering efforts. Work with management team on prioritization and implementation of approved actions.
- Other duties as required to support management of business controls and project needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in finance / accounting or equivalent experience in a commercial / consumer credit lending environment
- 2+ years in a commercial / business credit lending environment
- Prior experience working in a regulatory and compliance policy environment
- Background in project management and process improvement efforts
- U.S. Regulatory experience is preferred
